A Doctor of Pharmacy by education, his journey started when he flunked his third year B Pharma exam a little over three years ago. He had promised to feed 10 homeless people if he cleared the exam. Now, over the years, his rawa upma has become famous across three hospitals in the city Koti Maternity Hospital, Niloufer Hospital and NIMS.Every morning, since then, he has been serving free breakfast to at least 1,000 people at these hospitals.
While his Humanity First Foundation does manage to raise some donations now, for the longest time Shujathullah paid for it from his own pocket with little help from friends and family. The 27-year-old from Musheerabad hopes that the number of beneficiaries increases to 5,000 by end of this year.
